Facebook has made a significant policy change and now allows media companies, marketers, and publishers to shaare branded content across the platform.
Earlier it was prohibited citing things may look spammy on Facebook and also would cut the revenue of the social network.
Now, after making changes in the branded content policy the social giant says it will henceforth allow verified Pages to share branded content that includes:
Promotions
Product placement
Endcards
Sponsors’ logos
Photos or videos that feature third-party products, sponsors, or brands, differing from the Page
Those posts that disclose content is sponsored or else provided by a third-party
The social networking company has also launched a new branded content tool that is required to be used by publishers while posting promotional content. It is important to tag the marketer.
Meanwhile, Facebook has mentioned other types of branded content will follow the policy as before. Those will be banned.
The change was much awaited. Public figures, media companies, influencers, and marketers have always been looking for it.
Clare Rubin, product manager, and Nick Grudin, VP of partnerships, said in an official blog post, “People will now be connected to more of the content they care most about on Facebook as publishers and influencers gain an incentive to share more quality content.”
