April 18, 2016 – Palo Alto, CA. The increase in activity of international companies in the state of Telangana, India has been the driving force behind a dramatic leap in translations to Telugu and Urdu, the state’s most widespread languages, according to One Hour Translation’s research department, the world’s largest online translation agency.

The review by One Hour Translation has shown a 37% increase in the volume of translations to Telugu during the first quarter of 2016 compared to the previous quarter. This rate follows a similar trend during the fourth quarter of 2015, which exhibited a 26% increase, while there was an increase of 17% during the third quarter of that same year. The volume of translations to Urdu, the second most widespread language in Telangana, increased by 41% during the first quarter of 2016, and also increased by 25% and 35% during the third and fourth quarters of 2015, respectively.

One Hour Translation noted that the Indian government formed the state of Telangana in southern India in 2014, making it one of India’s 29 states. Many tech corporations such as Amazon, Apple, Google and Uber chose to queue up to have their second largest development centres outside of the U.S. in and around Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana. Meanwhile, Telangana is already home to big firms such as Facebook, Microsoft and Qualcomm.

“As the world’s largest online translation agency, serving ove 80,000n business customers across the globe, including 50% of the Fortune 500 companies, we have a critical mass of translated material for global enterprises in general and for multinational tech and finance companies in particular,” explains Yaron Kaufman, CMO at One Hour Translation. “Our database allows us to spot important trends in the hi-tech industry across the globe, as evidenced by the rise in the volume of translations to Telugu and Urdu.”

“We predict that demand will continue to increase for Telugu and Urdu translations, due to the number of companies building their facilities outside of the U.S., in Telangana,” Kaufman concluded. “These tech companies are going to need more documents, presentations, manuals and other business texts translated to Telugu and Urdu.”
