UK based IT support and training company, Nexus, has released new information on the different types of IT training that is available. They are keen to highlight that not all training is created equally, nor is it suitable for everybody. In so doing, they hope to ensure people get the most out of training investment.
Investing in staff training is something every organization should be involved in. However, a significant issue that presents itself is how to make the training relevant. Additionally, different people have different learning styles, which means that various content delivery methods must also be found in order to see a return on investment. UK based IT support company Nexus has looked into the different forms of training that exist in an effort to empower organizations to find suitable training provision for their staff.

Different students have different needs. It is important to recognize these needs. Nexus recommends that, as part of a new recruit’s induction process, employers perform not just a training need test, but also a learning style test. This will enable them to write strategies and create programs that offer the greatest value for money in as such that they will be the most beneficial for employees.
In terms of IT training, all three approaches to training can be delivered. Similarly, all four methods of training can be used as well. Nexus is happy to discuss a company’s specific needs in order to determine the best ways to ensure employees are able to access the training they need, in a way that is suitable to them.
A representative from Nexus says:
“We found that there is a significant lack of understanding about the different approaches to learning, and the different delivery methods as well. As a result, they often purchase packages that use a single approach and delivery method, and usually end up with a number of places available at the end of it, as well as a large amount of employees who feel they were not able to access the training they need.”
“It is important to see an employee as an investment,” he added, “which means investing in keeping their skills up to date as well. There are now so many solutions out there, particularly in terms of IT training, so there really is no more need for employees to go without.”
