Mid-range Moto M smartphone with metal unibody and 4GB RAM launched in China
Lenovo-owned Motorola has finally announced the Moto M smartphone in China. The smartphone was already benchmarked via AnTuTu and Geekbench, revealing most of its specifications. Its design was revealed through TENAA certification documents, so there was little left for the imagination. Basic highlights of the Motorola Moto M includes a metal unibody, a MediaTek Helio P15 processor, and 4GB of RAM.
Motorola Moto M: Specifications
The Motorola Moto M sports a 5.5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display with a 2.5D curved glass on top of it. The smartphone is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P15 processor and 4GB of RAM. There is 32GB of onboard storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card. In the imaging department, the Moto M has a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, and 1080p video recording. It also has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with a 85-degree wide-angle lens.
The Moto M runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, and also has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor with water-repellant coating. The smartphone has a metal unibody design and Dolby Atmos surround sound technology. Connectivity options include 4G LTE (with VoLTE), dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, NFC, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also has a USB-Type C port and a 3050mAh non-removable battery with Turbo Charge mechanism.
Motorola Moto M: Pricing & Availability
The Moto M by Lenovo will be available in Gold and Silver colors with a price tag of CNY 1999 ($294) in China. The smartphone will be available from Lenovo’s official website in the country along with other online retails like Tmall, JD, and others from the 9th of November, 2016.
