Mars rover Curiosity recently found a rare kind of silica—tridymite
Tridymite is also manufactured on Earth (see http://www.azomining.com/Article.aspx?ArticleID=481). In view of its rarity in nature and its large quantity found by the Martian rover, is it possible that the rare kind of silica was made by Martians?
