The time is ripe to follow rumors, leaks and speculations about the next-generation iPhone. It is important to keep track of all the updates as 2017 marks 10th anniversary of the original iPhone.
Amid dozens of rumors the latest claim iPhone 8 won’t be ready for the September launch date and probably the smartphone will be dubbed as “iPhone Edition.”
Japanese website Macotakara writes even though the “iPhone Edition” will be announced in September along with the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus, but the release date will be much later.
The information cites STMicroelectronics is looking for expanded deadline to ramp up mass production of iPhone’s 3D camera sensors, which is learned to be a major new feature in the anniversary edition and to facilitate augmented reality and facial recognition.
STMicroelectronics is the new supplier to Apple for the 3D camera sensors.
Some other websites too talks about delay in release date of iPhone 8 or the so-called “iPhone Edition.” It is the fingerprint sensor on the OLED display is causing hiccups. It is also being cited the 3D camera is having issues.
However, it is not to forget Apple is coming up with no physical Home button on the revolutionary iPhone and so it makes sense the company is coming up with a creative way to replace Touch ID and retain biometric identification.
