For the first time, researchers have found evidence in a belief in the walking dead in medieval England, where they analyzed bones and skeletons that were decapitated, burned, and otherwise mutilated after death.

Researchers from the University of Southampton and Historic England analyzed the bones from a Yorkshire village dating to the 11th -13th centuries. The village, Wharram Percy in Yorkshire, has been abandoned for a long time
