(Before It's News)

With the time change this week, I think this is a perfect opportunity to remind all of you that it’s time to check our fire/smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors in our homes, boats, and campers. We want to make sure that our detectors are in usable, safe working condition. I would suggest replacing each battery just to be on the safe side. The National Fire Protection Association recommends a smoke detector be placed in every bedroom, outside of each sleeping area and on every level of your home.

When I set my clocks back, I also replace the batteries in them as well.

I cannot stress the importance of this simple task. Many people use gas logs in their fireplaces and small heaters throughout their homes. Taking small preventative measures keeps everyone safe during the holidays.

If you were hoping to clean something today for our series, go ahead and dust these things off! You know they need it….
