This weekend we got a chance to test out Ryan’s new kayak. Ryan and I have wanted to tour the old town of Harrison for quite a while. We heard there were remnants of the old homes on the islands across from the marina before TVA flooded the area in 1940 after the Chickamauga Dam was built.
The old highway once ran through the town and can be found on the islands.

Caleb was so excited to go on an adventure! We saw plenty of raccoon and deer tracks. But I am pretty sure his favorite part was playing in all the mud! Luckily we had our rain boots on.
We found old bricks that were possibly parts of old chimneys. We found a really old hinge as well.
I thought this driftwood was so pretty.
We ended up having a lot of fun with the kayak, little boat, and the islands. We are ready to go back and find some more stuff.
