Since moving into our tiny home I have struggled with keeping it clean and livable. And the size of our home (900 sf) is not the reason why- I’ve struggled with keeping a 2000 sq ft home clean and livable. I finally learned that it doesn’t matter how big or small my house is, if I have too much stuff it will never seem clean.
This may be considered a first-world problem but this issue has caused me a considerable amount of stress and problems. After all, I am a stay-at-home mom and keeping my place tidy if one of my main duties. I felt I spent my life cleaning only for a few minutes to pass and all my work would be undone. It bothered me. A LOT.
This has been my troubling experience but I do of people who have a lot of stuff, they love their stuff, and they keep their stuff clean and organized. And to those people I am envious. And I do know of people who can live in complete disarray and it not bother them one bit. I am not one of those people, unfortunately.
Enter: The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo. I am so thankful for this book. So much in fact, I even made a video about it. If you are struggling with the same issues I have talked about please check this book out.
