     Sun , is the star at the center of the Solar System, where we are with other planets. Is almost perfectly spherical and is composed of hot plasma with magnetic fields interlaced. It has a diameter of about 1,392,000 km, about 109 times larger than Earth and its mass is 330,000 times greater. Sun totals approximately 99.86% of the total mass of the Solar System. About three quarters of the Sun's mass consists of hydrogen, while the rest is mostly by helium.

Sun as a star classification based on spectral class, is G2V (G2 indicates that the surface temperature of about 5778 K (5505 ° C) and V means that the Sun, like most stars, they generate energy by nuclear fusion, hydrogen to helium), and is described as a yellow dwarf, because the visible radiation spectrum is an intense yellow-green, although color is white. From Earth, the Sun may appear yellow because of the atmosphere.

Sun currently travels through the local interstellar cloud, in the inner edge of the Orion's arm of our galaxy, the Milky Way. The average distance between the Sun and Earth is about 149,600,000 km, depending on perihelion and aphelion.

Sun's orbit around the Galaxy is expected to be approximately elliptical. Sun oscillates up and down relative to the galactic plane. There were discussions that the passage of the Sun by the high density of the spiral arm often coincides with mass extinctions on Earth, probably due to increased impact events.
  It would take about 225-250 million years to the Solar System to complete one orbit of the galaxy (a galactic year), so this means our the Sun finished 20-25 orbits during it's life until now. Orbital speed of the solar system from galactic center is about 251 km / s . At this speed, it should take about 1190 years for the Solar System to travel a distance of 1 light-year, or seven days to travel 1 AU .
