It is controversial whether Mars had plate tectonics in the ancient past (Ref. 1). As a result, some people say any MMC (macromolecular carbon) found in magma must be non-biological in origin, while others disagree (Ref. 2). To some people, there could not be animal cellular fossils in magma or lava or basaltic rocks. Observational facts contradict them completely (Ref. 3).
Can you imagine an Earth without Earthquakes? I cannot imagine a Mars without earthquakes in the distant past, because Martians were angry just like Earthlings (Ref. 4).
