it looks like there is something living in the object, the bottom right hand area of the object appears to be an opening / doorway, in one photo the doorway is clear of obstruction and in the next there is a creature with its head and chest area sticking out the door.
Tiny little aliens… Could be…

Eh… nope.
That little piece is completely clean and has no dust on top of it.
Conclusion: it has been droped there really recently and most certainly belongs to MSL.
