‘Superstorm’ Sandy, a former hurricane now categorized as a post- tropical cyclone, damaged the space shuttle Enterprise’s pressurized pavilion on Monday as it passed over New York City. The 1970s prototype for NASA’s shuttle fleet, Enterprise has been on public display at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, a converted aircraft carrier, since July. The storm appears to have also damaged Enterprise’s vertical stabilizer, or tail.
