Massive Solar Flare Heading Towards Earth

A huge mass of electrically-charged particles thrown out by a gigantic eruption on the Sun is due to strike the Earth tonight.
Scientists expect it to trigger one of the most violent geomagnetic storms ever recorded.
The result could be widespread power surges and even blackouts, disrupted TV and mobile phone signals, and broken down communication satellites.
At the same time the Northern Lights, normally confined to polar latitudes, may produce dazzling displays in the skies above southern Britain.
At least one satellite has already been knocked out of action by the storm. Japan’s space agency said its Kodama communications satellite had been temporarily shut down after malfunctioning.
The solar flare that caused the eruption burst out of a sunspot at 10.54am yesterday.
Experts said it was the strongest flare seen in the past 30 years. The explosion caused a coronal mass ejection (CME) which is now speeding towards Earth.

Here is an updated image of the visible solar disk. Solar activity is currently at low levels. There will remain a chance for C-Class flares and perhaps an isolated M-Class event. A prominence eruption this morning hurled a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) into space, however it does not appear to be Earth directed.”
So how did this fake earth end up in your photo?

The date at the link article is not the date of the article, it is the current date that shows for all searched articles.
As far as the picture, the goof got it from somewhere else or put the date in themselves.

“Newsworthy” articles? You’re being too kind. A large number of of BIN’s posts could well have been written by lunatics, morons and people possessed by the devil. Likewise with the responses.
Yet some of the articles and responses — such as yours — are well worth reading. The truth is like a shiny nugget of gold that stands out no matter how much grime you toss upon it.
Despite its many flaws, I like BIN and wish it continued success. Although a number of my comments have been bleeped for no good reason.
On BIN, I’ve yet to see any articles about the abortion holocaust, or about rabbis involved in rampant pederasty. Both of these are horrific scandals.

Seeing the “earth” in the image, given it’s size and distance from the disc, we wouldn’t even be having this chat today. Didn’t even have to research the story – I would however award them for a childish job of Photoshopping it. Sadly, many readers will buy it.
So pathetic. I’m so sick of all the old articles that find their way here. It would be great if a real time CME would only do such damage, but it’s not going to happen. Move along folks, nothing to see here…ever…lol!

where did Daily Mail get its information? Spaceweather.com shows the brunt of the CME aimed 90 degrees away from Earth, and says it does not appear to be headed this way. If it was aimed directly at Earth, yes, it probably would have devastating effects, but this does not appear to be the case.

There was a CME on the 16th November 2012, however its not headed to earth..Geez talk about scaremongering
If there was a massive CME headed for the Earth what are we going to do…the people that have the protection will already know what is coming and be underground…while we all fry. What makes me laugh is there is more of us then the ‘Elite’ and yet we all sit here and complain, if we all came together there would be no more them or us we would all be in it together

It is very irresponsible for the poster of this article to not delete this false and 10 year old story, which makes me wonder if indeed the poster is a fraud and a con artist and a criminal. To willfully post or leave false information up is a violation of journalistic ethics and possibly criminal.
I have two dishnetwork satellite dishes. The one pointed at Ecostar 77 West carries my local market HD stations and the remainder of my service comes from other satellites. All afternoon today the sound and picture kept dropping out on Ecostar 77 West programs, and it kept getting worse to the point where it the dropout was so frequent that it wasn’t worth watching.
I called them and the just said they were having problems with Ecostar 77 West and hoped that they could have it working properly soon. This is an older satellite from what I understand, so it may be more vulnerable.
And for everyone’s information, there was a large CME event but it was not earth facing. So this story may itself be a fraud, but these events are fairly frequent.
