As established by the Mars Exploration Program, the main scientific goals of the MSL mission are to help determine whether Mars could ever have supported life, as well as determining the role of water, and to study the climate and geology of Mars.[10][11][11] The mission will also help prepare for human exploration.[11] To contribute to these goals, MSL has eight main scientific objectives:[13]
As part of its exploration, it also measured the radiation exposure in the interior of the spacecraft as it traveled to Mars, and it is continuing radiation measurements as it explores the surface of Mars. This data would be important for a future manned mission.[14]
Another strange object on Mars caught by Curiosity, this time a rodent looking creature. Of course this could be a trick of the light, but it does look remarkably like a rodent, worth posting in any event, enjoy Image Link:http://www.nasa.gov/images/content/694114main_Watkins-2-pia16204_full.jpg
