Capt. Dan Merrick PhD talks about the NBC news piece on DA14 Near Earth Asteroid that is predicted to hit on Feb.13, 2012…. Using NASA JPL near earth object web site Dr. Dan shows that the impact, if it happens, could not happen until Feb. 15th or 16th of 2013 or after. But that way NASA has NOT said it will hit the earth in 2013. “In 2012 it was also known that the asteroid would pass no closer to Earth’s surface than 3.2 Earth radii during the 2013 passage” Also according to NASA if it hits the earth it will be sometime around 2069!

It is not going to impact us. It is going to come closer then any have in a long time. It may disturb some satellite’s because it is coming in that general orbit. In the future we have no guarantee of its orbit. All it has to do is meet another free flying body or come a little to close to any of the moons and planets, a slight change in the path will become a much bigger change as it goes along. Stuff just keeps moving until it is an impact or interrupted by another body in space. There is a lot of stuff flying around out there.

as far as I am concerned,if it ain’t on my local news it ain’t gonna happen!!! Betcha million bucks no impact!! My newspaper woulda had the story covered for sure. Nope no way no how no harm no foul!!
Trusting in what the news channels report only for info is handicapping yourself. There are many thing to know that are not allowed on the news reports. Even info on government sites will be there for seeing if you look for it, there is no way they will volunteer most of it unless they have to. It is much better to control the knowledge of the people in the main.

This one in February is 50 metres long.
The one coming in September is 3 to 10 km long (the latter size the same size as that one which wiped out the dinosaurs. Unlike the one that bumped into dinosaurs from behind the one in September will be coming head on at it’s closest approah). Like two trains hitting head on.
