(Before It's News)

John Powell of JP Aerospace posts a video of a December balloon flight to the edge of space. The balloon burst at 96,339 feet. The parachute deployed two minutes later at 66,595 feet while decending at 303 mph.

He says, “The parachute sits in a basket. When the air is dense enough to support the parachute it gets blown out through holes in the bottom of the basket. This gives us a prefect deployment every time.”
