Not only will they have to spend 501 days together in cramped conditions, the man and woman selected for multimillionaire space tourist Dennis Tito’s $1 mission to Mars will have to coat the walls of their spacecraft with their own faeces to block space radiation, it has been revealed.
Researchers say one of the biggest risks to the mission is radiation from cosmic rays, and have come up with a radical solution to the problem.
