Between the 12th and 13th of April a 31-69 meter wide asteroid (2010 GM23) will make a pass at earth. On February 15, 2013 a meteor blast over Russia caused over $33 million in property damage and injured over 1,200 people. The Chelyabinsk meteor had a nuclear like intensity and was the largest meteor blast since 1908. Residents were obviously panicked as the impact of a 50 foot wide, 7,000-10,000 ton asteroid traveling at 40,000 MPH exploded, releasing energy of more than 10 times the atom bombs over Japan at the end of World War Two.

Surely that should have been written – “…injured over 1300 people and cause over $33 million of property damage”. ??
