Limb Eruption + CME
A fairly bright Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) is visible in the latest STEREO Ahead COR2 imagery following an eruption this morning in the vicinity of old region 1692. Because the location of this event was off the northeast limb, the CME plasma cloud should be directed mostly away from Earth. The event registered as a long duration C2.1 flare.

Solar Update for April 5th
Solar activity in terms of Solar Flare / X-Ray strength has been low. The largest event within the past 24 hours was a long duration C2.1 flare this morning associated with a non Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejection (CME). The eruption was centered near old region 1692 now rotating into view off the northeast limb. So far 1692 appears to be a spotless plage. All other regions are currently stable.
