Planetary Resources Announces Space Mining Partnership With Bechtel

The visionary company Planetary Resources, Inc. recently announced that Bechtel, one of the most respected engineering, project management, and construction companies in the world, has joined their core group of investors as a collaborative partner.
Formerly known as Arkyd Astronautics, Planetary Resources’ stated long-term mission is to mine near-Earth asteroids for raw materials, which could include anything from the elements used in rocket fuel to precious metals. The company says it plans to do this by developing and implementing innovative and cost-effective robotic exploration technologies. The company already has multiple contracts to create miniaturized and responsive technologies with such wide applications as space assessment, accessibility and resource recovery.

They are a world leader in the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) industry,” said Dr. Peter H. Based in San Francisco, Bechtel is currently the largest construction and engineering company in the US and the fifth-largest privately owned company.
