KLM Airlines Ticket-to-Space Contest Balloon Launches

ABC-TV Network affiliate KXTV-Channel 10, Sacramento, California News Anchor Dale Schornack follows John Powell and his JP Aerospace team to Nevada to record the launch of the balloon that would determine the winner of the KLM Royal Dutch Airlines contest for a trip to space. KLM sponsored the contest for a ticket from Space Expedition Corporation for a ride to space on XCOR Aerospace’s Lynx spaceplane. The winner would be the person who came closest to guessing the altitude at which the balloon would burst. View the launch, video of the ascent, and discover the altitude at which the balloon burst.
