Evidence for Past Life in Meteorites

Meteorites EET92042 and GRA95229 contain indigenous amino acids and chiral excess of over 30% (note 1). That is good evidence for past life in meteorites. Then, why did no scientists make such a claim? Answer: scientists presume meteorites had been formed before our Sun was formed and anything found in meteorites are presumed to be pre-biotic (before life happened). In fact, most meteorites came from Mars and contain fossils of Martian cells and tissue (note 2). Nothing short of chemical fossil can explain the amino acids and chiral excess found in the meteorites

 

So, the “pre-biotic” assumption is incorrect and prevents the discovery of past life in numerous meteorites.
