When all else fails just deal out the Nibiru card, the unproveable cure all.
Humans have been crying “the end is nigh” for eons. Every single person that has cried “the end is near” has died in the process and the end has never come.
This planet was around long before us humans ever showed up and will be around for a long time after we’ve gone.
You’re right, the bible was written by man for the little slaves to read and buy into it, because if all of us believe the world is coming to an end, then we have bought into the lie. If their is even a “nibiru” out there, then it probably isn’t what we think it is.
iamamerican um, not exactly. Widespread literacy didn’t come along until after the printing press was invented and put to use.
Even now the poor are denied education, in many parts of the world.

In addition to which, if the lowly and contemptible proletariat were found in possession of the written Word, they were to be executed.
Possession of the Bible by all but the ruling or the priest class was a capital offense.

– normalcy bias — she wasn’t believed. But Troy did fall.
And the end came for most of the civilizations that existed before the last cataclysm.
Remember, the Egyptians told Herodotus their civilization had existed for 341 generations.
Rain erosion on the Sphinx, and the amount of repair work that had to be done in ancient times (three feet of erosion had to be filled in) prove they spoke the truth.
They told Herodotus the path of the Sun across the sky had changed, 4 times. And that the sun had risen in the west, in the past. (The Earth was upside down.)

The mammoths and other large animals of eastern Siberia, that froze so fast, the food in their stomachs didn’t have time to rot, prove it. They froze, and the ground under them froze, and stayed frozen, while the ice sheet on north America melted.
It may be that our planet will survive the next encounter with the rogue planet. It has survived in the past.
But it may also be the end of the planet. Look at Venus. The surface is new (only 900 impact craters, compared with the Moon’s 300,000 large impact craters.)
Venus has a retrograde spin, as one gets from being flipped upside down.
And small, black comets disintegrate just above our atmosphere, every minute of every day. That is the frozen atmosphere of the former Venus, raining down on us in chunks that are mostly 20-40 tons in size.
Venus disintegrated when it got too close to a large planet. And re-formed. And that is why the surface is brand new.
And in the long run, THAT is normal. THAT is reality.
