The fifteenth of thirty six reasons to attend ISPCS. The Chief Medical Officer, Virgin Galactic, examines what it takes to create and sustain a commercial program that puts ordinary civilians in space. His talk focuses on the latest academic research describing the accessibility of space flight for people with significant medical problems. Dr. Vanderploeg discusses some of the reassuring results which show that even those with complicated medical problems should not be precluded from participating in spaceflight.
