SpaceX suffered its first Falcon 9 launch failure on Sunday (June 28) during its Dragon resupply mission to the International Space Station. Describing it as an “unintuitive cause,” SpaceX’s Elon Musk said there was an “overpressure event” in the Falcon’s 2nd stage, leading to the rocket breaking apart. Packed aboard the Dragon had been more than 4,000 pounds of logistics, experiments, and hardware for the space station, including a docking adapter to support commercial crewed craft.
