The Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum has moved its original Apollo lunar module to the Boeing Milestones of Flight Hall, making it the latest addition to the gallery as part of its two-year renovation. The lander, which will represent the Apollo 11 lunar module in its final configuration, was moved from the building’s east end to create a dramatic centerpiece for the prestigious Milestones hall. This was the first time that the artifact was moved since the museum opened in 1976.
