A newly discovered NEO labeled SB431-BIG16/2015 YB, an asteroid that is presumed to be nearly 50 feet wide was spotted by the NASA JPL ‘Otto Matic’ which monitors and tracks objects in space that could be a potential threat to planet earth. This one is scheduled for a close buzz of earth tomorrow, December 19, 2015, however at the moment the degree of ‘certainty’ associated with this fresh find is a CODE 9! The highest degree of UNCERTAINTY a NEO can be given. It shouldn’t hit the earth but it may have some smaller companions traveling with it that just might…heads up, may see something spectacular in the sky….but no harm.

no comments? lol.
after the fear mongering post of “ASTEROID TO HIT EARTH SEPT 24, 2015! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! LOL.
these fear porn mongerer’s just don’t quit do they?
This is actually the first EVER BIN post I’ve seen where it doesn’t talk about an impact or whatnot. Actually stating “No harm”…. where as the other post about the Christmas Eve Asteroid which is not even going to come close to Earth (approx 25LD) and has a Condition Code of 0 yet THAT one is said to cause major Earthqaukes as it “skims” by the Earth.
“… was spotted by the NASA JPL ‘Otto Matic’ which monitors and tracks objects in space…”
Otto Matic computes the orbit from the observations. It does not find, monitor, or track objects in space because it is not a telescope; it is a computer program.
Anyway, 2015 YB has been retracted because of erroneous observations. It is now known to be an asteroid in the asteroid belt.
