We’ve all known paid shills troll the internet to sway propaganda one way or another. Now, they have admitted it, at great expense to the taxpayers.
A newly released report from the U.S. State Department reveals that the government agency spent approximately $630,000 on acquiring Facebook likes.

Now, this is one tiny little segment of what I call the Shill dept. Mention chemtrails, the shills pounce. Mention govt pay being too high, the shills pounce. Mention anything anti govt, and the shills pounce…
The actual report is quite interesting to read.

Including this little tidbit…
Bureau of International Information Programs (IIP) leadership failed to convey its strategic
vision to staff members, despite formalized communications. Leadership created an
atmosphere of secrecy, suspicion, and uncertainty.
A 2011 reorganization of the bureau did not resolve structural problems and caused new
organizational difficulties. Morale is low.
Morale is low, because Americans in the govt/military are being used to do un-American things, including spying on citizens, and lying to cover for massive illegal activities..
Although the researchers focused their attention on paid posters in China, these techniques are used all over the world. The U.S. military, for example, has been working on software to automate the process of creating “sockpuppet” armies to invade social networks and online forums and gather info on terrorists and terrorist organizations. The researchers also showed how “socialbots” made up of bogus “friends” could be used for mischief on Facebook.

Paid shills have blown the whistle recently…
I am writing here to come out of the closet as a paid shill. For a little over six months, I was paid to spread disinformation and argue political points on the Internet. This site, ATS, was NOT one that I was assigned to post on, although other people in the same organization were paid to be here, and I assume they still walk among you. But more on this later.
I quit this job in the latter part of 2011, because I became disgusted with it, and with myself. I realized I couldn’t look myself in the mirror anymore. If this confession triggers some kind of retribution against me, so be it. Part of being a real man in this world is having real values that you stand up for, no matter what the consequences.
My story begins in early 2011. I had been out of work for almost a year after losing my last job in tech support. Increasingly desperate and despondent, I jumped at the chance when a former co-worker called me up and said she had a possible lead for me. “It is an unusual job, and one that requires secrecy. But the pay is good. And I know you are a good writer, so its something you are suited for.”

The story above came originally from the website Above Top Secret, and conspiracy website that I myself have been banned from. That sight is a govt run entity, that is designed to control and disseminate any govt leaks.
ATS was so upset about consciouslifenews publishing that article, that they threatened them legally.
Update 1/12/2013: CLN has received a takedown notice asking us to remove this article on the basis that “It is libelous and utterly false” from someone claiming to be a legal agent of Above Top Secret’s parent company. We are currently investigating and will post status updates as they become available. The original thread now appears to have vanished from Above Top Secret’s website.
After I was banned from ATS, I did a considerable amount of research into their origins. This is what I found.
