IntelNews.org (est. 1988) offers daily commentary on intelligence and espionage developments from around the world. It is edited by intelligence experts Dr. Joseph Fitsanakis and Ian Allen.
Many in the United States associate terrorism with contemporary versions of militant Islam. The data, however, tells a different story: since 2002, domestic extremists who hold far-right ideologies have struck more often and have killed more people than Islamic-inspired radicals.
extremism or as you put it militancy is dangerous in any ideology. ironically, the ones most targeted and murdered are those who believe in the same ideology from a different point of view. islamic radicals kill more muslims than christians or budhists or hindus. catholics and protestants have killed each other in the order of millions. that’s not religion, that’s plain bigotry and hate. each religion or ideology claims it’s unique, divine, all powerful and right authority to advance it’s cause. the end justifies the means. it’s time to stop being cheerleaders. it’s time to stop being in a club or gang or party or side. we are individuals, living within and dedicated to a larger collective. it’s time to start thinking about being human, to ourselves and to others.
