I’m currently going through Elizabeth George’s ‘A Young Woman After God’s Own Heart {Devotional}‘. It’s a perfect little book to read along with my Bible time because each ‘chapter’ is short but full of good and helpful encouragement.
One thing she wrote about was time well spent. Time for Jesus. Time that will never be wasted if it’s spent drawing closer to the LORD.
And this is something that I have really noticed in my own daily walk with Him. When I purposely make time to spend with my Savior, that time is the best and most productive of my whole entire day. The profits from it are not just daily, though. They are life-long. They are everlasting.
Yes, our days may be busy, our schedules cluttered with activity, our weeks so full of work and school that we are overwhelmed with just the idea of setting aside some time to pray and read His Word. But that feeling of being overwhelmed only comes because you actually need that time away from the world. Time that you need to spend at His feet.
