Pope says cross is failure

By Geri Ungurean

Back in September, Pope Francis called the Cross of Christ a failure “in human terms.”  Many Catholics came swiftly to his defense, saying that his words were taken out of context.

Now he has said this again. This man is obviously trying to drive home a point to the Catholic people, and perhaps the world.  What would that point be?

From Pulpitandpen.org

Quote from Pope Francis:

“When you don’t understand something, when desperation hits you then look at the cross. That is the great failure of God, that is the destruction of God, and it’s a challenge to our faith. And this is hope, because history did not end in that failure. Rather it’s in the resurrection of Christ that renewed all of us. I am going to tell you something personal. It’s 12 (o’clock) are you hungry? I am going to tell you something private. In my pocket I always carry two thing: a rosary to pray something which seems odd, this is here is the history of God’s failure, it’s the way of the cross, a small way of the cross, as Jesus suffered and when they condemned him right up to where he was buried with these two things I do the best I can. And thanks to these two things, I never lose hope.”

The cross, according to the Pope, is “the great failure of God.” The way of the cross is “the history of God’s failure,” according to the Pope. [1] – source

God’s Failure?

How dare this man blatantly call the Cross of our Lord Jesus “God’s Failure!?”  God makes no mistakes. He does not fail. He is all knowing and all powerful. Does anyone still doubt that we are seeing the False Prophet when we look at this pope?

I can just hear Pope Francis asking:

Did God say………?”  if he would open up a Bible, he would see exactly what our God says about the Cross and His Only Son’s death upon it. Let’s look at these Scriptures:

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18). (Emphasis mine)

*The Cross is the Power of God.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

*Christ’s death was the ultimate act of Love and Mercy from our Father in heaven.

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20). (Emphasis mine)

*Our lives as believers should reflect the mercy and love shown to us by Jesus on Calvary’s Cross.

“And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me” (Matthew 10:38). (Emphasis mine)

*The Cross symbolizes our Lord’s suffering and and as we follow Him, we will suffer for His sake.

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2). (Emphasis mine)

*Jesus knew that He came to this earth to die for our sins. His “humanness” allowed Him to feel the intense pain and even the shame of being nailed to that tree; but He knew what was waiting on the other side. He knew that his death on the Cross was the only way for us to be reconciled to our Father. This gave Him much joy!

“Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross” (Colossians 2:14). (Emphasis mine)

*Our sins (every one of them) Nailed to that Cross! Hallelujah!  Not a failure, but a great Triumph!

“Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren” (1 John 3:16).

*Jesus showed us ‘Agape’ Love when He willingly laid down His life and went to that Cross for us. He showed us that we should have this kind of love for our brethren.

What the Word says about the Devil

“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8).

“And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14).

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:11-12).

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

Brethren, I feel the presence of the evil one when I listen to the words of Pope Francis.  Anyone who loves the Lord Jesus Christ and believes that the Word of God is truly from God; should shudder at these words of the Pope!

To claim the Cross as “God’s failure” is straight from the pit of hell.  Our Lord and Savior came to this earth to die on that Cross.  That is the greatest news for mankind – that through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ – God made a way for fallen men and women to be reconciled to Him for eternity!

I pray that many Catholics are searching for the truth because they discern that the words of this pope are bizarre and not based on the Word of God. I have known many Catholics who truly seemed born again, but insisted on remaining in that godless institution – the RCC.

If you are a Catholic and are reading this article, please read God’s Word and compare it to the words of Pope Francis. God will show you that this man is leading many astray.  Ask the Lord to show you Truth.

HE is Truth.

Pretending the fiction is reality for a moment… The Pope is correct, I would go even further, because all failures would be IT’s failures,.. the IT is all knowing, all powerful. IT, knows everything from the instant it popped into existence, but did/does nothing to alter the outcome. IT is the entity who created us as flawed beings on a flawed planet with a million and one ways of ending our lives before their time, and IT would be the only entity that could alter the all known future that IT all knowingly created.

You folks can’t have it both ways, IT is either all knowing, or not… which is it?

  • Catholics should read this two books, to know what is going on in the vatican:

UNDERMINING OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH by MARY BALL MARTINEZ

    and
THE PLOT AGAINST THE CHURCH – Maurice Pinay

      • Here’s two books for you:
        The Two Babylons
        Catholic Concerns

Both go into details showing how from its start the papacy is nothing but the pagan religion of Babylon reborn.

  • Man

God is a failure, for an all knowing all powerful creator, he screws up more with the human race than he actually helps them.first the floods and then the tower of babel….

and the funny thing is, he created all the rules

    • man

Yes, God set in place the Rules i.e the Law..

Please point out the year, the month, the day, the hour and the second that even one was obeyed.

God has not failed as His plan of salvation is not complete, man, including you, have failed

      • Pix

That is the point being made. IT has failed not us. IT all knowingly created us to fail. You can’t have it both ways.
