(Before It's News)

It's rare that I come across blogging series and link-ups that I find interesting and beneficial…and worth supporting.  But I found this one recently, through a new follower (Amanda) who commented on my site, so when I went to check out her blog, the first post on her homepage was announcing this new link-up that she and her friend had created.
I read the questions and thought “Hm, this actually looks kinda fun”…
I'm not promising that I'll do this every month, but I'd like to encourage this new series and thought I'd participate for July.

Purposeful Pages is a monthly link-up designed to unite bloggers on answering questions about life, blogging, the Bible, writing, and books.

Question One // What verse and chapter of the Bible inspired you the most this past month, and why? - A friend of mine shared this passage from John 6:28-29 with me one of the last weeks of June and wow… I think it'll be the verse I focus the most on this coming month.
“Therefore they said to Him, 'What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?'  Jesus answered and said to them, 'This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent'.”
I think so often we make the Christian life too complicated.  And I feel like this passage is a great example because they were basically asking Jesus “What more do we have to do?” as if faith is just works.  And Jesus is like, “Just believe.”
When my friend shared that verse with me, I was very humbled…and stunned…and God used it to remind me that I need only believe in Him.  That IS the work of God.

Question Two // What’s a book (fiction or nonfiction) that you read or continued reading this past month that reminded you of an important truth? -  ”Come Away, My Beloved”… It's basically a compilation of letters from God to us based on Biblical truths and…just wow.  So deep and rich and sweet.

Question Three // Do you have any goals for yourself this month?  If so, what are they? -  Get a new job.  I just moved about forty minutes from where I was living before so I'm looking for work;)

Question Four // Have you discovered anything new or changed your blog around this past month? -  Yes actually, my blog designer changed some stuff up regarding the layover – width, pages, etc.  It feels a bit more organized, praise be.

Question Five // What is your favorite blog post that you wrote in June? - Probably I Tried Tinder For Five Days

Question Six // Can you share one quotable thing from your novel/book (if applicable) that you recently wrote? - I haven't worked on my baby novel since December:(  So sad…

Question Seven // What biblical character would you get along with the most, and why? -  I've always had a certain love and connection for/with John… I just think I'd be able to learn a lot from him.  And I love the way he writes.

Question Eight // Favorite new word unearthed from the dictionary? -
clepsydra – an early clock, using the flow of water into or out of a container

Question Nine // In the blogging world, what’s one thing you have learned about yourself? -  I've learned to not be so sensitive.  That honesty is more important than how someone will think of you.  To respect others and their opinions as much as you want to be respected.

Question Ten // What fictional character would you spend the day with, and what would you do? - go on a long walk with Lizzy Bennett, learn sword-fighting from Westley, have tea with Catherine and Mr. Tilney, listen to Jill recount her Narnian tales, go horse-back riding with Aragorn, learn to shoot guns with Benjamin Martin.
