The Chicago Cubs are seeking a replacement for center fielder Dexter Fowler this season. One of those candidates to fill the void is rookie Albert Almora Jr. who was called up in 2016 and made an impact right away for the team. Now as we are in Spring Training, Almora Jr. hopes he can earn a starting spot come Opening Day. So far, he’s off to a good start. On Tuesday, Almora Jr. made a spectacular play early in the Cubs game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Almora Jr. robbed Jefrey Marte, making the web gem look easy: https://twitter.com/NorthSideBlog/status/836688020073934848 The 22-year-old did that with ease as the Cubs currently lead the Angels in Arizona. If Almora Jr. wins the job, his defense will help Cubs fans feel a little better about watching Fowler leave.
