Reports State It Was Richard Sherman Who Started the Talks of Wanting the Seahawks to Trade Him

One of the biggest NFL stories this past week was the news that the Seahawks had interest in looking around the league and talking to teams about the services of all-world cornerback Richard Sherman.

Seattle fans were taken aback at the thought that the Seahawks would move Sherman, but there’s new news today that the talk of Sherman leaving were started not by anyone on the team other than – himself.

Here’s the report.

While it’s still a bit surprising, there are at least ways to justify the Seahawks wanting to trade cornerback Richard Sherman — such as the financial flexibility and need to get younger that a deal would provide.

But what’s not expected was that Sherman may have been the one who started it.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Sherman “initiated” the trade talks, and the Seahawks were merely trying to accommodate the star corner by making some calls.
