Reday Pac Salads has announced a recall of of over 5,000 cases of bagged salad over E. coli fears.A recall of ready-made salad has been announced. Ready Pac Foods has recalled about 5,000 cases of bagged, ready-made salad due to possible E. coli contamination. According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the products being recalled being recalled contain romaine lettuce with the use-by date of Nov. 18, 2011. Aside from Ready Pac, other salad brands recalled are Trader Joe’s, Raley’s and Safeway.
The voluntary recall in being made after a sampling tested positive for E.coli O157:H7.
No illness associated with the products in question have been reported so far. But consumers who have purchased the affected products are advised to immediately dispose of the salad. Affected areas are Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Oregon, Texas and Washington.
