Update on Strange Circular Clouds Near Hawaii

I received an email that appears to have come from a sailor in the U.S. Navy.
In the email he claims to know the cause of the near perfect rings in the skies over the ocean, near Hawaii.
Dear friend. Aloha, The “rings” photographed in the sky’s over Hawaii were actually reported on our local news and have been identified as contrails from high altitude fighter jets circling during joint military maneuvers presently being conducted south of Oahu off the west coast of the “Big” island of Hawaii. I have personally seen similar rings in the past involving the same cause. [Name withheld by SW/LITS]

Do I believe jet contrails as a plausible explanation? I would have to say yes.
