    Atlantis is not described by Plato as a lost city. He describes it as being as large as Africa and Europe combined. And beyond the pillars of Hercules, If you have globe, turn it so that West is North and look at the Mediteranean sea to India. You can see Hercules (Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India making up his head and body, and Arabia over his arm as his cloak) with one hand on Europe and the other on Africa, his pillars. Beyond that is the Atlantic ocean, beyond that is a continent the size described… America.
