Location of Sighting: East Dulwich, London
Date of Sighting: 9/12/12
Time: 20:46
Witness Name: Phill
Witness Statement: I have been reporting here multiple sightings of V shaped and boomerang shaped objects. They are black and lined with yellow/orange lights. They mostly ‘switch on’ and ‘switch off’ and move very quickly and silently. When far away they appear as an orangey glowing object moving swiftly and silently across the sky. Picked up in binoculars the details become clear. Closer sightings give a clear view of these apparently simple structures. There is something oddly two-dimensional about them but the sightings rarely last more than a few seconds. As I have mentioned before this is heavily controlled airspace – I am near a locus for the start of glide paths for both Heathrow and London City Airport.
Last night I was out looking at a bright and clear overhead sky – below 30 degrees there was heavy haze – I could count 6 stars in the Pleiades cluster as a measure of conditions. I was hoping to see some Geminids (they peak on Thursday night/Friday morning – 13th/14th Dec. around midnight) but instead I saw yet another of these intriguing objects.
The UFO was of the V type again – thin black strands with lights – but was configured differently. It seemed to be two straight strands rapidly flying in unison and in parallel creating the appearance of a single rectangular object. And this time the only lights visible were at the ends of each strand – 4 lights in total. The sighting lasted only about 3 seconds and the object seemed to be flickering or rippling as it moved.
I was playing with the theory that that they appear here because of the huge amount of energy from: the localiser beams at the airports, the nearby Crystal Palace Radio relays, and even the microwave phone relays on the flats outside my house. I was wondering if they can somehow capture and use some of this free energy. I am sure they are not particularly interested in SE London or my back yard. Another idea occurred to me yesterday, perhaps the radio energy around here ‘lights them up’.
I mention this because I am baffled at the way they appear and disappear. Do they want to be seen or what? Anyway – I did not get to see any meteors. I am hoping to finally share a UFO sighting with a friend who is coming over to watch the meteor shower on Thursday.
