Witness Statement: Right the reason why I’m a regular here is that I myself witnessed what I think is a UFO. I did report it on another website and never here so I’ll do it now in case it’s of interest to you.
On the night of the 10th july 2012 when on holiday at my mum’s, I was having a last ciggie before bed with my nephew on the terrace. I was explaining to my nephew that on clear nights we can see satellites passing above us. We saw coming from our right (that would have been South – and from the coastline) what looked like a plane at first (lights approaching) and a few seconds later I noticed they were twinkling quite differently than a usual commercial plane. So I kept on looking while talking to my nephew. The “plane” wasn’t flying on the usual paths but whatever, as it approached we noticed that first of all the object was flying quite low (I can’t say an exact altitude, but it seems like it was in the course of a taking off or a landing? and flying pretty slowly too, can’t give you any speed at all – no idea how to measure that) and that it didn’t look like neither an helicopter nor a commercial plane as there were more lights, and these lights were flashing in a totally random pattern. I called my mum to join us and watch. The “object” approached our village, and flew over some of the roof tops, it must have been, I don’t know 200, 300m high?? Super, super low!! Definetely made of some dark (black, dark grey?) material, with at least 5 or 6 lights – a mix of white, orange and red – flashing randomly – OR perhaps the object was spinning around itself which could have given the illusion – or both. It flew above the roofs until a couple of blocks away from our flat and then made nearly a U-turn and then started heading back almost from where it came from. We lost sight due to the neighbouring roofs. The object was quite large (would have covered my mum’s studio which is about 30m2) and we both agreed on a circular or at least oval shaped with the lights circling its borders – no visibility on the height of the object itself though. No noise at all and when my mum joined us, that’s what I kept on asking “shush, listen. There’s no noise, can you hear a noise?” We were paralysed by what we were witnessing and totally dazed so to speak. I will NEVER forget what we saw that night, my nephew freaked out and my mum couldn’t give an explanation.
I did not report the sighting to the police, scared that they might think I’m insane but searched on the internet ever since for similar reports (and found this website! Haha). I found a video on youtube in France a few weeks earlier and I think one in Peru in Jan 2011 that “somehow” looked similar to what we witnessed. We ruled out satellite (of course), chinese lanterns, helicopters, commercial planes, weather balloons, the only explanations to me are either a UFO or a military object – but I still can’t figure out whether the military can can fly circular objects and make them do U turns like that.
