Big Bear Observatory Captures Airplane In Front Of The Sun
The Watchers- Big Bear Solar Observatory (BBSO) recorded an interesting image of the Sun on January 12, 2013 at 07:57 UTC. Using Kanzelhoehe H-alpa filters to spot the active regions of the Sun, BBSO telescope captured a plane and contrail flying afront of the Sun as seen from the Earth.
The Big Bear Solar Observatory is a solar observatory located on the north side of Big Bear Lake in the San Bernardino Mountains of southwestern San Bernardino County, California (USA), approximately 120 kilometers (75 mi) east of downtown Los Angeles. The telescopes and instruments at the observatory are designed and employed specifically for studying the activities and phenomena of our solar system’s star, the Sun.
