It’s Wednesday, September 11, 2013. The time is approximately 7:30 pm. As I’m writing this blog, I’m listening to a new CD I just got this week for the first time. I can’t say who it is because I’ll actually review this artist on Monday. The only clue that I will give is that this artist is an individual in every sense of the word. This person is quirky, often misunderstood and truly in a league of their own. I was so inspired by their creative energy that I started thinking about the great lack of individuality in entertainment, the workplace and in life in general. Would some of us wear skinny jeans if pop culture didn’t glorify them with every color known to man? I personally hate skinny jeans (for men) and would much rather prefer overalls any day, lol. Would we get that 3rd drink at the bar, knowing we’ve reached our limit, just because it seems cool to get a little tipsy? Hello conformity. Welcome, have a seat with us.
The hottest trends and inventions were never made from being lost in a crowd. Ideas that are introduced for the first time are often ridiculed for being too risque, impractical and too impulsive. But it takes breaking the mold to grow.
scary!!!!
