Site Down – Funding Ideas
Dear All,
As many of you know the site has been down for the past few days. The hosting company suspended the site after it was hit with high resource requests which took down the shared server on which it resides. I’ve had to make several adjustments and hopefully things are now back to normal. Going forward however if there is a repeat of this weeks events and/or we reach the limit of the database in which the sighting reports reside there is a good chance the hosting co will insist that the site is hosted on a dedicated server. Due to funding issues (believe it or not it’s still partially funded out of the wife’s housekeeping money) this unfortunately could mean the site would have to either remain in its current state i.e no more sighting reports published , sold or taken offline. Therefore if anyone has any funding ideas to keep us going then I would love to hear from you . Please email them to me at [email protected]
Although over the past 4 years I’ve manually published over 10k reports ,to be honest despite my labour of love there is probably been an equal amount that will never see the light of day.Therefore on a separate note many thanks for all the kind offers of support to help with the administrative work load going forward. At the last count I had over 20 offers of assistance by email and will be in touch over the coming weeks once things have settled down.
