Witness Statement: I witnessed this last year in my back garden and can honestly say its the most bizarre thing I have ever seen!
I was in my garden having a cigarette before bed and was looking at the clouds as the moon was very bright. The clouds were moving quite fast in a northerly direction and were very high.
I had my back to the back door and suddenly from above my house (behind me) the object appeared.
It was about 4-5 house heights up and was moving directly east in a straight continuous line with no change in direction or speed (different direction than the clouds were moving)
It was like a opaque grey/clear bubble,round to oval in shape and I could clearly make it out. I could see the clouds through it even though they were so so so much higher.
In comparison to the moon that night it was about the same size and as it was only about 4-5 houses up I think it would be around the size of a Luton type van or even a double decker bus. It was heading in the direction of the navy dockyard in portsmouth. It stayed in a direct straight line. I have houses at the back of mine and it took about 20-30 seconds for it to get to a point I could not see it because of the rooftops. I was so freaked out I just stared in disbelief as to what it could be. I wish I had not frozen and thought about running to the third floor of my house to watch it further. there was no light,flashing or glowing on this object and the was no noise.
I like so many in the mid nineties saw the lighted craft that were whizzing across the sky in different directions in my area one night and this was nothing like that. If anyone has any ideas on this please let me know, Ive been looking out for it ever since but have not seen it again.
