Setting on the sunflower above is a crab spider known for its really unique ability to move back and forth side ways just like a crab. It’s yellow in color and if you were not really looking for it you probably wouldn’t see it would you. It can also move back and forth just like a regular spider and it has the unique ability to change color to match its surroundings or the flower it is setting on.
The Peacock Jumping Spider is a really unique spider. Check out a post about it by Clicking Here What you may not know is that this spider is really small but one of the most colorful spiders in the world.
With a five inch leg span this is the largest spider native to the Middle East where it is found in or on sand dunes in Israel. This spider is what nighmares are made of. This spider is known locally in Israel as a Sand Spider. I know I wouldn’t want to meet it in the dark.
The Rosser’s Sac Spider was thought to be extinct for a number of years but then a man found one specimen and in a few minutes time he had found 10 more of the same spiders. This spider lives in the wet lands of England and as more wet lands are destroyed the spider may indeed become exticnt some day but right now its fine. Though it is right damn spooky looking.
The above spider is the Fen Raft Spider and it lives around and on the water. It hunts for its prey mostly on the water where it hunts down its prey.
The Goliath Bird-Eating Spider is the spider above and yes this spider does indeed eat birds. Specimens of this spider have been found with leg spans as large as 11 inches. This spider rubs it’s legs together to make a hissing sound and it has the annoying habit of flicking its hairs at you which can irritate some peoples skin.
And in at number 7 we have a giant Fish Eating Dock Spider. Some of these spiders are so large that people who encounter them think they are some form of crab. And yes that is a crab that the spider in the above photo is indeed eating.
