New Year's Jolly & Modest Beginning

(Before It's News)

Gosh! I didn't even finish off a bottle of champagne! (Just half of one.)

We just celebrated with some friends and next door neighbors. Hanging out and having fun. The highlight of my evening was when Darcy and I began dancing all around the kitchen, both of us just really getting into it and being goofy. Onlookers applauded us several times when a certain Lady Gaga or Madonna song would come on and he and I would just bust loose and look absolutely ridiculous! Darcy had never seen me dance before and was astonished at how good I was– though I wasn't even dong my best, just being silly. I was happily surprised to watch a Type 5 loosen up myself, and he was very creative with his white boy dance moves, we all agreed. Peals of laughter rang out around us from our audience, and several times Darcy and I gave each other a fit of giggles from watching the other one's moves. Great way to welcome the new year!

I was saddened, though, to know that several people who didn't come couldn't because they were either dealing with addicts or addiction issues (not even drinking, mind– pills and harder stuff.) Knowing several people who battle such challenges or who are involved with those who do, makes me appreciate my friends who are either sober or mostly so. I love to party from time to time, but for whatever reason addictive behaviors don't seem to be a part of my mental make-up, and for that I am exceedingly grateful. Life is hard enough without dealing with yet more devastating issues.

On the other hand, I was lighter of spirit because I had finally addressed some concerns with a friend that were beginning to really affect our relationship. I hate to be one of those people who just fades away because I don't know how to solve a problem. People have tried doing that to me, and I'll never forget how hurt and mystified I was. Besides, that's the coward's way out. I can be braver than that. I just hate hurting people's feelings and want to avoid drama. To my relief, said friend didn't freak out on me and agreed to give things a break for a few weeks before we get down to discussing things further, to see if we can either fix the problem or part ways peacefully.

At the end of our New Year's Eve party I did readings and allowed people to draw a “blessing” card from a special deck for the year.

My husband's blessing card was “marriage” which was hopeful. So apparently he and I are to do much better in the coming year.

Tad got “career” which indicates either a big promotion, or a better job. His reading said he'd likely end up going back to school for something.

Darcy got “pregnancy” which we all laughed at! But it meant a project would come to fruition in 9 months, and his reading indicated his spiritual life would be expanding in the next year.

Other friends got overall good readings and the blessing they drew seemed to match those readings. Everyone seemed pleased. 2014 was a challenging year for many people.

I don't do readings on myself– but my blessing this year was “Winter” which means what I want most right now will manifest within 2 and a half months or by the holidays at the end of the year. What I want most is a new place to live that I can love– so that sounds promising!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone and may 2015 bring many blessings to all my readers!
