Is this the face of Jesus? Shopper sees holy image in toilet door on his trip to IKEA. Dave was shopping in IKEA in Braehead, Glasgow, for curtains The 33-year-old visited store’s bathrooms before buying a hot dog There he saw what he though was the face of Jesus in a wooden door It brought him no good luck as he left the store empty-handed. A shopper was stunned to discover the face of Jesus in an IKEA toilet door. Dave Simons was shopping for curtains when he went to relieve himself in the restrooms at the store’s branch in Braehead, Glasgow. On his way out, the 33-year-old was startled by the divine image staring back at him from the wooden door. ‘I spotted Jesus reminding me to do up my fly before I exited the toilet,’ said Mr Simons, who works as in the film industry with props. He recalled how he had been round the store and was on his way to have a hot dog when he decided to go to the men’s room. There he encountered the image which he was desperate to capture. ‘I went in to the toilet and there it was on the main door when I put my hand out. I said “Oh my word, it’s Jesus” ‘I tried to subtly snap a photo because the last thing you want is to be heard taking a photo in a toilet,’ he added. He believes the outline of eyes and moustache resembles that used to commonly illustrate Jesus. However, Mr Simons admitted, others he has shown are not as convinced. ‘I think it looks like Jesus but some of my friends think it looks more like one of the tree people from Lord of the Rings,’ he added. Despite his divine encounter, Mr Simons left the store empty handed. ‘I actually went for tiebacks for curtains but they didn’t have any. ‘So Jesus didn’t help us there.’
Nice punchline.
