What is this strange amphibian creature? Is it real? We look into the mystery surrounding pictures of a supposed ancient amphibian called the Diplocaulus which lived about 200 million years ago.
Even though this photo turned out to be the work of a sculptor, ancient amphibians such as the Chinese and Japanese giant salamander do still exist. These amazing salamanders can grown up to a whopping 6 feet in length!
