I had a few decent weeks, health-wise. Started walking a little, been keeping up with my healthier diet. Like always, whenever I start to have a few weeks back to back of mostly remission days, I began to daydream of a more normal life: a job, negotiating complicated buses or even driving a car, getting to be totally independent… Sometimes when things go well for a while, I start to wish and wonder what it would be like if my health would just stay 'good' for a long time–?
…. and then the next flare hits.
First I woke up covered in hives after over-sleeping by 4 or 5 hours feeling horrid. In pain, clumsy and stupid, and so fatigued it was hard to just get to the bathroom and back.
Swell…
Later in the day, Cat and Sharn both came home from work sniffling from the beginnings of colds. Evidently, my immune system has encountered whatever they brought home, and thus my next bout of flares begin! They saw how awful I looked and apologized to me, but like we're going to be able to avoid sharing germs! I mean, they can do their best to avoid germs out in public or at work and wash their hands a lot, but its gonna happen.
Even as I was walking 4 miles a day I thought: 'Its getting to cold and flu season, so this is not going to last.' I just have to try to do my best to get a little exercise in while I can and hope my flares are of short duration.
It was nice while it lasted. Hope I can get back on that horse by next week or the week after!
